Truong Sanh Palace was one of the famous relics in Hue Citadel. The palace is located in the northwest corner of the Imperial City, behind Dien Tho Palace with the original name of Truong Ninh Palace.

It comprised three principal building follow a pediment including the front hall or “ Ngũ Đại Đồng Đường” ( literally “Five Generations Together Under One Roof”), the main hall or Điện Thọ Khang and finally the rear hall or Vạn Phúc Pavilion.
Thọ Khương Palace and Vạn Phúc Pavilion were behind the main Trường Ninh Palace. And all three building connect to each other by a central covered corridor.
The special role of Trường Sanh Palace
Trường Sanh Palace ( Meaning “Long Life”) originally served as a flower garden to contemplate. At the end of the Nguyen Dynasty, the palace also became a living place for some queens : Queen Lệ Thiên (wife of Emperor Tự Đức), Queen Từ Minh (wife of King Dục Đức), Queen Tiên Cung (the wife of King Đồng Khánh)…
Nowadays, passing the historical changes, Trường Sanh Palace’s architecture has changed. However, it was one of the seven famous landmarks in the mysterious capital under emperor Thiệu Trị.
